Dental boding, also known as tooth bonding, is an outstanding option to repair tooth decay and teeth that are chipped, fractured or even discolored. Our cosmetic dentist in Huntington Beach, Dr. Moretta, uses premium material when completing the dental bonding procedure to ensure long-lasting, natural-looking results.
The Dental Bonding Procedure
Many of our Huntington Beach patients confuse dental bonding with porcelain veneers. The biggest difference is that porcelain veneers are created in a lab whereas dental bonding is completed by our dentist. Due to this, the dental bonding procedure is completed in just one visit to our Huntington Beach dental office, eliminating the need for any follow-up dental visits.
Our dentist will begin the bonding procedure by preparing the tooth surface to receive the composite resin that will be applied to it. In completing this part of the procedure, our dentist will remove any part of the tooth surface that has been affected by decay or damage. After this, the composite resin is made to match the color of the tooth and is sculpted into place. Finally, the layer is bonded into place for a permanent, natural-looking result.
Dental bonding can be used to correct the following imperfections:
- Broken, chipped, or otherwise damaged teeth
- Misaligned teeth
- Discolored teeth
- …and more!
What are the advantages of dental bonding?
Dental Bonding has two main advantages:
- Dental bonding is less expensive than porcelain veneers.
- It can be accomplished in just one visit.
Our Huntington Beach dentist will help you choose which procedure is right for you after a full examination. Please contact our dental office to schedule an appointment or to learn more about dental bonding.
